Rollover blocks highway

Emergency services responded to a single vehicle rollover at 9.23am on the Capricorn Highway, 15kms east of Emerald on Tuesday, 19 August. Firefighters worked for almost an hour to free a 73-year-old woman trapped in the vehicle. A QAS spokesperson said she was stabilised at the scene and transported to Emerald Hospital and treated for serious leg injuries, and injuries to her hand and pelvis. The highway was reopened at 11.43am. (Supplied)
