Overcast skies could stop the Gemfields community from shining on national breakfast TV when the Sunrise crew came to town on Thursday 29 May.
Featured throughout the series of live crosses by reporter Georgie Chumbley from Miners Heritage in Rubyvale were Bluey Richardson, Gemfest president Rodney Pallentine, Kerrie Hughes from Pat's Gems and Richardson Mining's Rowan Richardson.
